Leaving the Studio

• Keep the protective covering on for 1-2 hours as directed by your artist
• Remove the covering carefully in a clean environment
• Wash your hands thoroughly before touching your new tattoo

First Wash

• Gently wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and fragrance-free antibacterial soap
• Use clean hands only - no washcloths or sponges
• Pat dry with a clean paper towel
• Apply a thin layer of recommended aftercare balm

Daily Care Routine

• Wash 2-3 times daily with gentle, fragrance-free soap
• Apply a thin layer of unscented moisturiser or specialised tattoo aftercare product
• Keep the tattoo clean and moisturised but avoid over-application
• Expect peeling and flaking - this is normal

What's Normal

• Light scabbing and peeling (like a sunburn)
• Slight swelling and redness in the first few days
• Itching as it heals (do not scratch!)
• Faded appearance during peeling phase

During Healing (2-4 Weeks)

• No swimming - pools, hot tubs, lakes, or oceans
• No soaking - keep showers short, no baths
• No direct sunlight - cover or avoid sun exposure
• No scratching or picking at scabs or peeling skin
• No tight clothing over the tattoo
• No gym or heavy sweating for the first few days

Products to Avoid

• Petroleum-based products (unless recommended by your artist)
• Scented lotions or soaps
• Alcohol-based products
• Hydrogen peroxide

Protecting Your Investment

• Always use SPF 30+ sunscreen on healed tattoos when exposed to sun
• Keep skin moisturised to maintain vibrancy
• Touch-ups may be needed after several years - consult your artist
